OK, fellow hikers, we're back in the foothills where we'll hike in the Elena Gallegos Open Space. There is a $1.00 fee per vehicle for using the open space. There are a number of parking lots in the park, and we'll meet at the farthest north parking lot. This lot can be reached by circling around the pay booth and driving north for about a half mile. Just look for my red truck. 

There is some elevation gain in this hike, but it's so gradual it's not noticeable. There are some rocks that could be difficult to get around so a walking pole might be necessary. Most of the hike is in the open, so you will need head gear and, of course, water. Bring snacks if you wish as there are a couple of benches where we can take a break.
