Our hike will be on August 28 and we'll meet at the the Capulin Snow Play/Panic Area. From the parking lot we'll hike down this short road to Capulin Spring through a small meadow and up to a ridge line and turn right. We'll continue on this trail for a bout half mile to where it opens up at the top of the mountain. From here we'll have a good view of the lower Sandia Mountains. We'll turn around and hike back the way we came towards the Snow Play area's large parking lot. We'll skip hiking through the small meadow. It's then about a quarter mile walk to our vehicles. Total hiking distance is about three miles or so.

To locate this picnic site head east on I-40 and exit at the Tijeras/Cedar Crest exit (I think it's exit 175). Continue on NM 14 towards and through Cedar Crest to NM 536 taking the traffic circle towards Cibola National Forest. The picnic site is about seven miles up the Crest Road.
